Hablemos con Rusia Creativa fosters dialog between Russia and Latin America
Online Spanish-language program for young leaders: Day 1
On 18 October 2024 official spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valentin Smirnov, opened Hablemos con Rusia with his welcoming address. The second speaker was Irina Dubovskaya, founder and director of the Creative Connections Agency, assistant professor at the MSU and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. She outlined the current trends in the Russian creative economy. The third speaker represented the Republic of Karelia. Head of the Department of External Connections of the Karelian Chamber of Trade and Industry, Anna Chernenkova, told the participants about one of Russia’s most picturesque and tourism-oriented regions. Her speech was supplemented by Ekaterina Biktimirova, founder of the Creative Cluster of Karelia and a UN expert for tourism.

Day 2
On 19 October 2024 the participants divided into teams and played online game “What If?”. They generated ideas for 6 joint Russian-Latin American projects in the field of creative industries. Each team based its project on the specification of a goal, a problem, a target audience, and a business model. Besides Irina Dubovskaya from Day 1, the judges and moderators of the game included Ekaterina Vilchikova of the Agency of Creative Industries, Nikita Grishanin of the Plekhanov University, art manager Olga Berdnikova and other experts. Creative Diplomacy expresses gratitude to all Latin American and Russian participants and speakers, as well as its partner organisation, the Agency of Cultural Diplomacy and Creative Industries!
The 1st place is taken by the film festival "Beyond Borders" and "Culturonauts".
The 2nd place — the project "Matryoshka’s Cultural Path"and "Our roots".
The 3rd place — "Roots and Future" and "Roots before branches".
Ekaterina Vilchikova emphasized the value of our interaction: "I really enjoyed participating in the online game "What if?" as a member of the jury. Amazing projects, inspiring atmosphere of cooperation and youthful enthusiasm of the participants — I wanted to join the implementation of each of the 6 projects." We hope to continue the mutual dialogue between students from Russia and Latin America in the field of creative industries and cultural diplomacy.
